A Brief Introduction
TechPherson is owned by Jon Lightner and started up as a small computer repair business for the greater McPherson area, partnered with The Wichita Computer Guy for our shared coverage. The desire is not to compete with the tried and true established companies already available in the region, but instead to offer non-traditional hours to the market of McPherson and surrounding areas.
To be honest, I (Jon) work a day job and cannot provide services during normal business hours. That said, I am more than happy to schedule appointments after hours and even weekends to provide you with the necessary fixes you might need while other companies are closed. Not everyone can find time off work to take their computer in during the day. I enjoy offering a service that is non-traditional in the sense of being available when no-one else is.
The services I provide in McPherson and surrounding areas are for on-site residential customers and small businesses that need tech support after hours, provided you understand I will not be able to assist with problems during the normal workday (M-F 8-5). For more background on me, you are welcome to read further.
As an overview of the home residential needs I can help with, it basically covers everything that is not Apple related. While I will be willing to look at Apple computers, and have worked on Apple hardware and OSX in the past, my experience is limited. Windows on the other hand, I can cover it all. Printers? No problem. Internet provider telling you that the problem is not their equipment? No problem–I have a combined six years of Network Engineering experience for Charter Communications, Merrimac Communications, TDS Telecom, and a regional hospital for the straight networking side and can tell the difference between the issue being yours or theirs. Wireless being ‘wonky’? No problem! Computer decided to choke out with the dreaded Blue Screen of Death? No problem! For more information on residential services, check the residential service page.
For small businesses, I can assist with printers, computer issues and networking. That includes experience with SCCM, DHCP Servers, Windows Infrastructure Systems, and Cisco systems. In other words, most issues that might arise around technology within your work place, I’ll be willing to look at and assist with.
